You never know what you will find

Life Updates and Nonsense:

-How come my ipod only plays sad songs when you want to hear something upbeat?

-Why does my hairstylist's flat iron make my hair smell like burned hair when I wash it after I see him?

-Although, grateful for having lost so much weight that I need a new wardrobe, what do I do when one of favorite dresses no longer fits, because it is TOO BIG?

-Hannah is talking so much- Great Examples are: "Look at the sky.  The sky is blue."  Hannah:"Is that Josh?"  Me:"No, that's Jenny."  Hannah:"Oh."  Hannah:"Is that Papa?"  Looking into my bedroom... Me:"No.  That's Suzy."  Hannah:"Oh, Shuzi is night night."  Me: "Yes."  Every time I cough she asks, "You okay?"  I always answer, "Yes."  It is just adorable.  I love how much she is growing and learning.

-Just when you think you like the loneliness, it ends.  Then you want it back, then you can't have it.  Just then you get used to having people around, then the loneliness is there again.  It sucks.

-Ladies night is great!  I enjoyed it.  All of it.  Megs got me to set on a date for the going away party.  That was painless...

-I don't think I will ever get used to sleeping alone.  Never.

-I still find sharks totally interesting

-Sometimes the right decision is the hardest decision to make...

Missing you

To Jamie:

The beginning...

Jamie,

If there were to ever be a movie about us (I don't know why there would be, but I do envision weird things like this and you know I envision even weirder things) so...

This would be the opening song...

The beginning of us.

What's it like where you are?

Dear Jamie,

There is something about the apartment that is different while you are away... Every noise is just a bit, louder.  Every light is just a bit, brighter.  It is strange to be here for days without you.  Tomorrow will be day 3 and I really haven't accomplished anything.  I'm slightly bored, mostly irritated and extremely lonely.  I didn't realize how safe you made me feel, till you were away.

Thanks goodness for friends, who are more like family... Suzy, Jenny.J., and Becky.  Becky has checked on me everyday, Suzy called both days and Jenny stayed for hours to chat it up with me.  I almost forgot that you weren't here while all of these events were taking place, but I soon realized that something was missing... YOU.

Hannah and I are anxiously awaiting your return...

Night.

I love you

A long way from home

Dear Jamie,

You have only been gone five hours and I miss you already.  So far today, we've cleaned, cleaned and cleaned.  Hannah refused to eat her jambalaya for lunch.  Needless to say, it was a huge mess.  We've both gotten over it.  She has been great about going to the potty and has asked to go several times so far today.  She is down for her nap and I'm about to take one too.  Today is a lazy day.  Not quite sure how we will spend the rest of the day, especially with the park being totally soaking wet.  Maybe we should give Cammi a call?

I hope you have enjoyed some sleep on the plane and possibly a decent lunch???? I can't wait to hear about all of the interesting conversations that you and Patrick had while on this journey.  Remember to take tons of pictures!  I'm looking forward to girls night out with some lucky ladies.  Although, the day after isn't one I'm looking forward to.  Did I agree to go camping with Becky and Dominic on Saturday?  That is, without you and WITH Hannah?  Did I really do that?  What was I thinking?

Well... Off for some shut eye.

I love you

That is my week thus far.  It has been hellacious, surprising, exhausting and wonderful.  We will be looking for a place to live in the next couple of weeks as well as a daycare center for Hannah.

While driving to Austin, Suzy and I tuned into NPR to catch up on the election and was surprised at what we heard.  Obama won. I had the feeling that he might win, but wasn't sure if it would ACTUALLY happen.  But, it did.
I know people are getting totally wet over this... He IS the lesser of the two evils,I guess... I'll leave it at that.  Ralph, you had my vote!  I'm sorry.

Driving to Austin with Suzy was great.  She helped keep me awake with loud music, dancing, laughing, great conversation and great friendship.  Love you Suz!

I'm just ecstatic right now with all that has happened in the past couple of days.  Jamie and I are thrilled to be moving.  We love Austin and all that it has to offer.  I'll report more on this later.

I'll miss a lot of you, you know who you are...

To my great husband:
I love you.  Thanks for all of the support you've given me in the past couple of weeks with school, trips, the closing of a door and the opening of another, dinners, Hannah and countless other things.  You amaze me.  Here is to the future, IN AUSTIN!
