I got my hooks up!

I finished my first pair of fingerless gloves the other week and since then have received a few orders for a few of my friends. I am really excited about this.

This is more informational for my new "customers"
The gloves that I posted on facebook were made from this yarn:
http://www.bernat.com/product.php?LGC=satin&SPP=999

It is called Denim Heather Mist. Those gloves were slightly larger for a co-worker, who had very large hands for a female. We actually call her, "Man Hands." So, if they look large, that is because they are.

Most of what I'll be making for everybody, unless specified otherwise. Is this kind of yarn.

Yes, Vanna White has her own yarn. She has so many colors and I love that. I have a pair of these in the Tangerine Mist color. I love how warm they are. However, they are not as soft as the Bernat Silk. So, keep that in mind when I'm making these.
I ask that each of you please measure your wrists for me. Please send me your measurements via e-mail or you can just reply to this post.

I know that somebody asked about making them a little longer. I can do that as well. I currently have a pattern to make them almost more an armwarmer style.

Here is what the original patern will look like on your hands:

I know somebody was debating between a gray and black. I love the Charcoal gray, it is a dark, smoky gray. Let me know as soon as you decide. I am working on an olive green pair right now and will start on the black pair for Melissa unless specified otherwise. So, I need addresses to send these to.

I also wanted to say thanks for requesting these. I enjoy doing this and hope you will like yours.

What about the dance floor?

This made me crack up while driving home from work. Gotta love XM radio. It may be old, but to me it's new.

I think I'm in need of a night out on the town.

I successfully made it through 2009. I typically don't do New Year's Resolutions, but I figured what the hell... I've slowly been thinking about what I want to change and try in the new year and have compiled a list of some stuff/junk/the new me:

1. Begin crocheting a blanket

2. Exercise at least 3 days a week- when possible

3. Try at least one new restaurant a month

4. Limit eating out to twice a week with Jamie and Hannah and only once a week for lunch

5. Limit sweets and soda

6. Eat vegan at least 3 times a week

7. Start a compost pile

8. Spend less time watching tv

9. Read at least 10 books this year- already finished one

10. Learn to sew, successfully and make four dresses for Hannah

11. Purchase

12. Attempt 1-2 family activities a month

13. Shop less

14. Save $$$

15. Continue to be positive regarding my job

16. Learn to knit

17. Blog more

That's it. There you have it. I don't think anybody even looks at this, due to my irregular posting. But, here is to 2010. Here is to a great year!

That's really not my style

I came to some realizations today:

-I don't blog nearly as much as I need to and would like to.
-Me and my co-workers are turning whining into an "art-form" and this needs to stop or we will end up like one of my co-workers who has a permanent scowl on her face.
-I regret not decorating pumpkins with Hannah.
-splurging on Sonic happy hour made for a better end to the day.
-Some friends just aren't who you think they are.
-Some friends are just who you think they are and they are awesome. They support, laugh, respect and love just when you need them to.
-Despite how shitty my job is, there are some super great ladies that I work with in that place and I will be sad to not see them whenever I leave. Whenever that is...
-Walking to pick up Hannah yesterday was the highlight of my day and should be everyday.
-Watching Hannah watching me leave for work at 6 AM is the worst part of my day and just breaks my heart.
-Being at home, alone, is the best.
-Thinking about Christmas decorations brings a smile to my face.
-Seeing my collar bone again, someday, would be REALLY nice.

I have everything I need... I think.

What can one say when it's been almost four months to the day since I've typed a single word... Nothing.  Excuses.  Excuses.

I kept thinking that the more time that went by the easier it would be to find time to write.  Ya know how you get into a groove and things just kind of flow and then you find the time and before you know it, you have 3-4 posts a week.  HASN'T HAPPENED.

Nonetheless, I'm here and here is a post. It feels good.  Not like riding a bike, I barely know how to do that, but getting past the anxiety of trying to figure out how to put all my jumbled thoughts into complete sentences and actually type them.  That, is totally different.

So, I'm surrounded by paperwork from ECAP, Ogle, bills and my thoughts.  It is exhausting to even think about, much less write about.  Needless to say, I am having a hard time believing that this is my life that I am living right now.  With that being said, I graduated and my diploma sits at my desk and stares me in the face any time I dare go near it.  I swear sometimes it follows me around the room and even looks at me across the house.  "What does it say, you ask?"  I think it says, "Use me!"

Whatever the stupid thing says, it is collecting dust and taking up space, more than anything else...

We moved, we almost moved again.  We stayed.  We're happy to be here.  We have already rearranged and organized the garage/storage space.  We still need to paint.  China is in its place, island looks great!

Jamie's been great!  Hannah is amazing.  She's Jamie, all Jamie.  She's beautiful. I miss Christian and Sabrina and look forward to them coming up here in like two weeks.  Yay!

I loathe my job and it is providing me with a slow and painful death.

I think that is all I have to update for now.  I may be gone for another five months or so.  I'll try not to be.

There's more, but not now...

Enough is enough

Have you ever had one of those days?  You know the ones I'm talking back...  The kind where you just want to climb into bed and pull the covers over your head and forget about the day.  Yep, one of THOSE days.

So much so, that I turned off my phone.  I NEVER turn off my phone.

I often wonder why people behave a certain way.  Why somebody wouldn't think about their behavior until after they've behaved badly?  Why people only think about their own situation instead of thinking about the situation that other people are in.  It just becomes more and more difficult to be that kind, patient, understanding person when others aren't that way to you.  I'm the person that is trying to be the one that blows things off and just kind of "rolls with the punches," but it gets to be too much sometimes... And today I don't really know which way I'm going.  People can be cruel and selfish, sometimes...

Keep moving forward, right?

After Hannah was sick for four days, we are slowly recovering.  And I do mean slowly.  Her appetite is back, but her attitude stinks and she is acting like a sick kid still, mostly whining her way to get what she wants.  Kids...

Austin is out, due to no sitter.  Arizona has been pushed back till march and Corpus is still on for mid-February.  But, other than that... All is on track.

It was a great holiday season

So, I wouldn't normally post a bunch of pics about stuff that I've received as presents, but they kind of just make me happy, so I thought I would "show off" some of my new toys.  There was more, but who has time to post pics of all the stuff they got?  I'm already late for bed.  And YES, I have a bed-time.
